So, you can't afford Super Bowl Tickets, almost none of us can.  But, there is a way for you to be part of the Super Bowl and make memories you can share with your children and grandchildren someday.  Be a volunteer in a group that will be known as "Crew 52", they're going to need 10,000 volunteers so your odds are pretty good!

The last time I was at Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank it was to interview the Executive Director Shaye Moris, about the Back Pack Program.  I was amazed at two things.   One was the number of area students that rely the backpack program and the other was the incredible dedication of the volunteers that were packing them.  That day it was a group representing Essentia Health.

Project Joy is an event organized by a local family in memory of a loved one that helps to fund the Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank's Backpack Program.  It's a program that ensures some Northland students have food over the weekend.  While shooting this video I was moved to tears with what I saw and thinking of these kids who have come to rely on this food donation to last their weekend. 

Thousands of volunteers are needed to dedicate time to “clean and green” of Duluth. More than 3,000 hours were documented last year

The St. Louis River Experience gives free boating and nature experiences to many groups of people.  Seniors, veterans, people with special needs and youth.  They are a non-profit organization that makes these experiences free of charge.  The season is about to start and they are looking for volunteers to help make this possible.

How exciting for the Twin Cities Salvation Army, they received a HUGE donation in one of their red kettles.  It was one of the largest donations ever made and the donors wanted to remain anonymous.  The check was dropped in a Cub Foods red kettle on Thanksgiving weekend.

The city of Duluth needs your help to get rid of some plants taking over the area. The Volunteer events will take place every Tuesday beginning Oct 7, and you will need to have an hour and a half free. You will be helping to tackle some invasive plants in the region.
