Louise Lasser - sure.  Sinead O'Connor - okay.  But Milton Berle?  The list of unwelcome guests on Saturday Night Live contains a few surprises. Some of  the stories behind why they were never asked back are weird and some are pretty funny in retrospect.

As you know I am a huge paranormal fan. So, I have decided to rate paranormal TV shows. There have been a few new ones this year, and there have been some new seasons of some good ones. Here's my top 5 of 2013.

One of the televisions beloved character actors of the 1970's has died.  Actor Ron Palillo - who played Horshack on Welcome Back Kotter - has died at the age of 62. No immediate cause of death was listed, but friends close to the actor say that it was unexpected...

I've said for a long time now that Kelly Clarkson has talent.  In a society where reality television too often awards contestants recording contracts when they shouldn't, Clarkson has been a refreshing breathe of fresh air - delivering on the promise...

I watch the Food Network from time to time.  Okay, I watch Food Network a lot more than I care to admit.  Ina Garten and  Alex Guarneschelli are two of my personal favorites.   Bobby Flay has grown on me (my first impression of Flay as cocky and self-centered has softened) - and so has Guy Fieri (who, when he's not criss-crossing the country visiting greasy spoons, actually has some pretty-decent

Jenny might be from the block, but not the blocks she drove through for a recent Fiat commercial.  In recent commercials for the auto manufacturer, Jennifer Lopez is seen driving through the Bronx neighborhood - where she grew up. But you'd better look again...

So, researchers have linked the rise in acceptable profanity on television to the increased use of these words by kids.  Do you think? Children are very impressionable.  They watch, listen, and soak up everything that they're exposed to...

Celebrity-chef Emeril Legasse teased at it.  Science-fiction writers longed for it.  Tech-heads have hoped for it.  But, it appears that "smell-o-vision" may just become a reality. If French design company Olf-action gets their way, gamers and movie-lovers will soon be able to add another dimension to the already-exciting world of entertainment...

After months (okay - years) of speculation of when Regis Philbin's last day on his "Live!" show would be - it appears that he has confirmed an end date:  Friday, November 18th, 2011.
