After leading the University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs to the National Championship game, Dominic Toninato has signed a contract with the Colorado Avalanche.

I was scheduled to interview a culinary student at East High School on his recent accolade of winning a regional competition.  I was told to park in the lot by the school but noticed there was a sticker in all the other cars.  I did as I was told, but "lost" my car. Here's my story.

Good News and Bad News.  First, the good news. Adrian Peterson's back is feeling much, much better and he WILL be playing in Sunday's play-off game against the Seattle Seahawks.  The bad news, it will be downright frigid in the outdoor TCF Bank stadium.  I thought I'd share how I dressed for a local high school football game to give fans an idea of how to stay toasty.

Bayfront Festival Park in Duluth will officially be the stage for Hockey Day Minnesota 2016. During a press event held at Bayfront Thursday morning, officials from the Minnesota Wild, FOX Sports North, headline sponsor Wells Fargo and other statewide and local organizers unveiled plans for this winter's event.

The Greyhounds of Duluth East beat the odds multiple times through their incredible run to the 2015 Class AA Championship game. With the odds stacked agains them yet again, Lakeville North proved to be too much for the Hounds, winning 4-1 and staying a perfect 31-0 on the season.

The Duluth East Greyhounds opened their seventh straight State Boys Hockey Tournament appearance in thrilling fashion. The Hounds staged a three-goal rally in the third period and Ryan Peterson found the net in overtime to upset the Cadets of St. Thomas Academy in a 6-5 thriller.

After clenching their respective section titles, Hermantown and Duluth East make another trip to the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. Both teams are continuing a streak of appearances at the tournament, but their path to the big dance and the road ahead are different for each team.

The Minnesota boys high school hockey tournament begins this week and two Northland teams will be looking to bring home championships.  Hermantown will enter the tournament as the Class 1A top seed, while Duluth East was not seeded in the 2A tournament.

In a thriller of a game that needed extra frames, Section 7AA top seed Elk River and number 3 seed Duluth East met at Amsoil Arena Thursday night to compete for the section title and to earn a trip to the 2015 Minnesota Boys Hockey Tournament at the Xcel Energy Center next week.
