While I don't profess to be an English major, I have always been fascinated by our language. I find words and grammar interesting and I like to know more about the language we speak (and write).
It's a shame. Modern society places such a low-level of importance on basic educational skills. We've raised a generation (or two) of children that don't know basic mathematics or even how to properly use the English language.
