This was a very fitting word to describe the last 12 months.

While I don't profess to be an English major,  I have always been fascinated by our language.  I find words and grammar interesting and I like to know more about the language we speak (and write).

It's a shame.  Modern society places such a low-level of importance on basic educational skills.  We've raised a generation (or two) of children that don't know basic mathematics or even how to properly use the English language.

Here’s a scary thought: Miley Cyrus is having an effect on the English language.

If Congress doesn't want to redefine marriage, the Oxford English Dictionary will just do it themselves. After all, that's their job.
