Look for Boy Scouts and volunteers at your local grocery store on Saturday, October 28th from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the "Scouting for Food" Food Drive. It's an opportune time to contribute directly. This annual fall event, hosted by CHUM and the Voyageurs Area Boy Scout Council, helps feed our hungry neighbors.
More and more Children go hungry in the summertime. Whenever I hear stories about pets and children, I automatically put my pet and child into the story. Now it's a family thing, and I think I could be in that group very fast. Families are lining up to do a night time shop in the food shelves. The challenge has become bigger for all food shelves but especially for CHUM.

The thinking is, when kids have the supplies and are ready for school without the stress it puts on parents and familes that can't afford it, the kids are more open to learning. They feel a pride in themselves.

All children are welcome to participate in this year’s Children’s Rhubarb Run the morning of Saturday, June 28. A variety of other children’s activities will take place throughout the festival, which lasts from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at Leif Erickson Park. This year will honor Steve O'Neil.
