Duluth-based Great Lakes Hockey has made a love for the game into popular hockey attire and beautiful artwork made from old hockey sticks that can be seen across the country and beyond.

When I go to fairs and festivals I look for usual things to purchase (and something yummy to eat).  You know, stuff I can't get in a department store.  We went to the Bayfield Apple Festival and I was on the search for my treasured purchase.  I found it, love it and it leaves my husband shaking his head.

I've driven by Miller Dwan Rehab building many times in Duluth, and I've seen the artwork statue out in front of the doors.  It wasn't until recently, when I was actually walking out of the building, that I noticed how "real" the statue is.  I mean, holy cow.

Driving home this afternoon I took a quick detour to see for myself the Wall of Ice project that artist Roger Hanson has been working on.  There is a noticeable difference than what I saw just a few days ago.

Veterans' Memorial Hall will host an exclusive display of a 8ft x 10ft mural with statewide military significance. The mural is part of the Veterans Educational Historic Project, sponsored by the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery Memorial Association.

Saturday was shop small business day, and I was down in Canal Park hanging with the people at On The Rocks, part of what they do there is let you paint. Looking for a unique gift, how about your art? It was fun because I haven't painted in years, and then I found out why I haven't.

Balloon art is usually something that's confined to a) clowns or b) those guys on the side of the street who make those really embarrassing hats that are like, five feet tall. As it turns out though, there's a whole lot more to the art than standard balloon animals or pop-able accessories. In fact, a lot of 'em are actually impressive.
