Southbound Lanes of Blatnik Bridge to Reopen October 19th

If you've been wondering when the Blatnik Bridge would reopen to Superior-bound drivers - here's the news you've been waiting for;  The south-bound lanes of the "high bridge" will open to traffic this Friday, October 19th - wrapping up a summer's worth of road construction.

Crews have been working on the bridge to help extend it's useful life and to get it ready for extra traffic when the Bong Bridge sees it's two-year project in 2014 and 2015.

Southbound motorists should be aware that even though the lanes on the Blatnik Bridge will be open, there will still be single-lane restrictions from late morning Monday October 22nd until late-afternooon Wednesday October 24th - while inspectors identify light fixture and conduit connection locations for the bridge's new lighting system.
