As snow gives way to wind and bitter cold, the digging out process gets underway for the first significant snowstorm of the 2018-2019 season for Northlanders. Snow and wind in excess of a foot in many places made for difficult travel conditions and power outages around the region to end Christmas Week 2018.

This storm also etched a place in the history books, with 12.2 inches falling at the Duluth Airport in a 24 hour period, making it #22 on the all-time snowfall totals within a 24-hour period in Duluth.
