Weather Closings and Delays For Tuesday, January 21, 2025

Another round of school closings and delays are popping up for schools in northern Iowa and southeast Minnesota due to the extremely cold temperatures hitting the region.  See below for the latest updates for Tuesday, January 21st, 2025.

Extreme Cold Warnings and advisories have been issues through various parts of Iowa and Wisconsin by the National Weather Service.  If you live here and have stepped outside today, you already know that the bitter cold hitting our lungs and faces is brutal.  Staying out in these conditions with exposed skin can also lead to frostbite.

If you do need to be outside, please make sure to limit your time outdoors and dress for the "Extreme Cold"  elements.

Due to these extreme temperatures, several schools in the region have announced closings and delays to help ensure kids in Minnesota and Iowa stay safe.

Aldrich School in Rochester - Closed on Tuesday.  Open enrollment postponed to 1/22/25 at 8:00 am

Austin Public Schools - Closed on Tuesday.  APS closed 1/21.  No Kids Korner or Community Ed.

Byron Schools - E-Learning Day for Tuesday

Caledonia Area Public Schools - Closed on Tuesday.  SAC and CAPS Care programs open as usual

Charles City Community Schools - 2 hour delay on Tuesday

Chatfield Public Schools - closed Tuesday.  No am weight room.  Valleyland is open.

Discover Magical Moments Daycare in Rochester - Opening late on Tuesday.  8:00 am.  Discover Magical Moments will be open from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm Tuesday.

Fillmore Central Public Schools - Closed Tuesday.  SAC and Daycare will be open.
