At the time of the drug bust, Bloomington Police Chief Booker Hodges says the fentanyl-laced pills seized by law enforcement could kill one million people.

The major drug case began with a report of a financial card transaction fraud call at a Bloomington area hotel in August of 2022.

The search led to the discovery of 108,843 M-30 pills that tested positive for fentanyl. Federal court documents say the deadly pills were inside of vitamin bottles.

In January, Trice pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl

A news release issued by the U.S. Attorney’s Office of Minnesota says Trice was sentenced to six years in prison by a federal judge on Wednesday.

Trice’s punishment also includes five years of supervised release.
