East Bethel, MN (KROC-AM News)- A motorcyclist lost his life in a crash near the Twin Cities over the weekend.

Emergency responders were dispatched to the fatality shortly before 3:30 Saturday afternoon. 

The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office says an SUV was also involved in the deadly crash.

The preliminary investigation indicates the SUV was traveling east on Fawn Lake Drive Northeast in East Bethel when it attempted a left turn into a driveway in the 4500 block.

Officials say the motorcycle then entered the oncoming lane and crashed into the driver’s side of the SUV. First responders arrived and administered life-saving measures but the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

The operator is being described as an adult male. His name has not yet been released. 

An adult female was driving the SUV. Her name has also not yet been disclosed. Authorities say she suffered minor injuries following the fatal collision. 

The Minnesota State Patrol and Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office are assisting the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office with the crash investigation. No other information has been released.
