Unbuckled Driver Dies in Head-on Crash on Rural Minnesota Highway
Quambia, MN (KROC-AM News)- A Minnesota man lost his life in a head-on crash on a rural highway in the eastern part of the state.

It happened shortly after noon on Tuesday. Two vehicles were involved in the fatality.
The State Patrol and other emergency responders were dispatched to the crash on Hwy. 23 just southwest of Hinkley.
The state crash report says a westbound pick-up entered the eastbound traffic lane to try and pass a semi.
A car was occupying the eastbound lane and the vehicles collided head-on despite attempts by both drivers to swerve onto the southbound shoulder.
59-year-old Kim Walter Kolesar was identified as the car driver. The Brook Park man, who the State Patrol says was not wearing his seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
16-year-old Jacob Scott Pickard of Hutchinson was driving the pick-up. He was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
A passenger in the pick-up, identified as 61-year-old Timothy Dean Simrell of Hutchinson, was not hurt. Officials say alcohol was not involved in the deadly head-on crash.
