A Sure Sign Spring Is Here, Sweet Corn Is Now Being Planted!
If the current weather isn't convincing you that we are indeed in the middle of spring, maybe this video will? Janson's Sweet Corn posted a video this week that shows them starting to plant their sweet corn crop. Does anyone else's mouth water thinking about fresh Central Minnesota sweet corn?
Sweet news from Central Minnesota
Janson's Sweet Corn posted the video on April 22nd, and it for sure caught my attention.

While it's still early, plenty of other producers are still preparing the soil, Janson's is getting out in front, and starting their growing season about as early as you want to.
Is it too early to plant?
Janson's Sweet Corn knows what they are doing, they have been growing and selling their sweet corn for 30 years! One of the more important things to the family is that they "strive to bring the freshest and tastiest sweet corn to our customers."
Last year, you could start buying sweet corn from the Royalton stand in late July. You'll have to pay attention to the sweet corn growers' social media page for details on where you'll be able to get corn this year. Last year, you could find the sweet corn stands in Buckman, Royalton, and Onamia.
Slow down if you see farm equipment on Minnesota Roads
If you are out and about the next couple of weeks, you should be aware that producers are out, and while they do their best to stay out of the way of traffic, it doesn't always happen.
Remember to slow down, and remember to allow the equipment to operate in a safe manner, some of these planters are pretty wide, and driving down the road producers have to keep an eye on what they are trailering, making sure to keep equipment on the rights sie of the road, as well as to not damage items along the shoulder.
