The Duluth Police Department reported just after noon on Monday (February 6) that officers are on the scene of a situation involving an "unwanted, agitated male" at the Greysolon Apartments in Downtown Duluth.

The report from the department said the individual barricaded himself in an apartment and is refusing to exit. They say he is armed with "an edged weapon", though police believe nobody else is in the apartment with the individual at this time. The department's tactical response team is on the scene, and the crisis negotiation team is talking with the person.

Officers say they have also evacuated residents from surrounding apartments.
