A Lucky Wisconsin Lottery Player Is Now A Millionaire
Powerball seems to get the most headlines, but Mega Millions is another nationwide lottery game capable of generating huge jackpots.
On Tuesday, December 3, that jackpot grew to a massive $154 million and while nobody won that incredible payday, someone in Wisconsin did become a millionaire.
Mega Millions drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday at 10:00 p.m. CST. The rules of the game are similar to Powerball. It's $2 per play and for an additional $1 per play, players can purchase the Megaplier feature to increase non-jackpot prizes by 2, 3, 4, or 5 times.
Players pick five numbers from 1-70 and one Mega Ball number from 1-25. They can select those numbers themselves, or they can choose the quick pick option to have them randomly selected for them.
There are nine ways to win, starting with $2 for matching just the Mega Ball. Match the first five numbers plus the Mega Ball to win the jackpot. To win $1 million, you'd have to match all five numbers but miss on the Mega Ball.
According to the Wisconsin Lottery, that's just what happened on December 3 and they shared the exciting news through social media on Wednesday.

The winning Mega Millions numbers from December 3 were 52-60-61-66-67. The Mega Ball number was 23 and the Megaplier x4.
One lucky person came very close to winning the $154 million jackpot by only missing the Mega Ball number, but it's still a very good day as they did become a millionaire.
According to the Wisconsin Lottery, the $1 million winning ticket was sold at El Rey Food Mart, located at 1320 W. Burnham in Milwaukee.
The winner's name has yet to be released, but there's still a lot of money up for games with the next Mega Millions drawing, which will be held at 10:00 p.m. CST on Friday, December 6. The estimated jackpot is currently $579 million. If you want to take a shot at winning big, make sure to purchase your ticket no later than Friday at 9:00 p.m. CST.
