Big Balls Of Leaves Now Seen In Minnesota Trees Are Not Bird Nests
There are signs of spring everywhere in Minnesota that are impossible to miss, especially if you're an outdoor enthusiast who loves the sounds of nature.
While I'm not outdoors as much as I'd like, I have been spending more time outside with my dogs in the warmer weather, and I've definitely noticed my backyard being a lot noisier than it had been before we had warmer temperatures, especially in the morning.
I hear so many birds at once that it can be deafening, not that I'm complaining. I've enjoyed it so much that I've downloaded the Merlin Bird ID app, which can identify every bird it hears through your smartphone and give you information about all the birds.
I'm guessing you're hearing similar sounds of spring, and seeing them as well when you're able to spend time outside. One thing that you're likely to see when looking high up into the trees is a mess of a nest that looks like a nest made by a drunk bird.

Before you waste time trying to figure out what bird is behind this big ball of leaves, take a look below and meet the likely architect of that creation. It's not a bird at all, but it is likely to steal from your bird feeders. I bet you can guess what I'm talking about.
