Well, hello there winter. It seems like it is finally feeling like winter here in the Northland after a pretty mild start to the season.

While we still have yet to see as much snow as usual up to this point, we did get those cold temperatures we're known for last week.

As we head into another month of winter, it seems like things could really change, at least in terms of snowfall.

There is a strong chance, at the time of writing, for heavy snow in both Minnesota and Wisconsin.

I follow a page on Facebook called Midwest Weather. The page is run by a weather analyst and has a HUGE following.

The latest forecast from Midwest Weather has everyone freaking out just a bit. It was shared on Monday (January 27th), stating that heavy snow is in the forecast for next week, beginning on Tuesday and continuing through the end of the work week.

'Favorable' Conditions For Heavy Snow

It appears that the first week of February is really going to shake things up and give us that true winter feel once and for all. Heavy snow, according to the National Weather Service, is considered one or two inches of snowfall per hour.

I say bring on the snow! We know it's going to happen eventually. We might as well rip off the bandaid.
