We often see social media posts from various law enforcement agencies throughout Minnesota, and for good reason.

While it can also provide false leads, sharing suspect photos on social media can be a useful tool for law enforcement to identify suspects, and there have been many cases where the public has provided key evidence or information after seeing posts from law enforcement.

That is what the University of Minnesota Police Department hopes happens with a post they made on social media on October 28, 2025, regarding a recent crime.
