The time of the year is near: our St. Jude Radiothon is not far away and we are so blessed to have a supportive community that comes together to raise as much money as possible! One of those people is Justin Gower, who owns JG's Custom Lures.

The company is based in Alborn, Minnesota and sells custom painted lures for the "not so average" angler. The Northland has a big fishing community, which makes the business the perfect fit.

JG's Custom Lures has been part of our St. Jude Radiothon over the past few years, raising thousands for the cause. In fact, they raised over two-thousand dollars in 2021 and held another benefit for the cause in 2022, which raised double the amount of money.

Now, Justin is back with another fundraising benefit and if you are an angler or you have one in your life, this is a great way to benefit the kids of St. Jude and do some good! Even if you aren't one or don't know an angler, it always feels good to give back.

The benefit takes place on Facebook, so make sure you like the official Facebook page of JG's Custom Lures so you can take part! For the third year in a row, Justin will go live on the social media channel for a live auction.

Prior to the Facebook auction, Justin will spend a week painting custom lures every night so you can see what will be auctioned off during the live. He will be doing so on Facebook live starting Monday, February 6th and continuing every night until the 10th.

As for when you can actually bid on the custom lures, that will be Wednesday, February 15th through the 17th. On top of the custom lures, fifty other local businesses (and counting) have donated items that will also be auctioned off.

Justin is hoping to break a record for the auction this year with a goal of ten-thousand dollars. The benefit is called Fishing To Fight Childhood Cancer, which was started after the loss of a classmate to leukemia at eighteen. Now, he is hosting this benefit to remember him and help other families.
