Glensheen announced and unfortunately had to cancel the inaugural event all within a week.

In a post on Facebook Glensheen said, "We are sorry to announce that we are canceling our Fire Fest event planned for February 15. Over the last seven years, we have proudly hosted many events that our community has come to know and love, from Concerts on the Pier to our Glensheen Galas. When creating events, our intent is to offer high quality, unique experiences that you wouldn’t normally expect from a house museum."

The event was to include many different activities for the day-long event including 25 bonfires, food, flaming drinks, hot beverages, and fire-related vendors.

They also had a 24-foot wooden shark created for the event that was meant to burn at the event. The shark will now be saved for something Glensheen is planning for the summer, so stay tuned.
