While there was plenty of excitement about the announcement of an upcoming 'dislike' feature on Facebook, use some patience and avoid falling for these new scams targeting eager users.

The website HackRead is warning Facebook users about a scam that is targeting people via links that offer the ability to get the new dislike button on your profile early. While Facebook is expected to roll out a new dislike button 'soon', these campaigns are looking to dupe excited early adopters into offering up personal information and account credentials. This information is reportedly being used to spam the user and other users they are connected with, among other things.

Facebook rolls features like these out automatically and generally doesn't spread links around to get people to try out the feature. If you see any links being shared around offering the ability to get the dislike button, don't click on the link and don't share it.
