Fall cleanup has never been easier!  If you're cleaning out the garage in preparation for winter, or doing those last-minute yard chores, the City of Superior has the solution for what to do with all of that trash!  As they have in years past, they're offering Free Landfill Days on two consecutive Saturday's:  October 28 and November 4.  In order to use the landfill for free, you must be a resident of Superior.

Between the hours of 8:00 AM and 2:30 PM, residents will be able to bring approved items to the landfill on Moccasin Mike Road free of charge; there are small fees for mattresses and box springs.

Here is a list of items that will be accepted during the event:

Household trash

  • Brush
  • Tires - a limit of 5 for free per residence; must be 18-inch or smaller
  • Grass clippings and leaves
  • Mattresses and box springs:  $15 each if completely dry and clean, $18 each if damp, wet, or heavily soiled

The following items will not be accepted:

  • Recyclables
  • Demolition or construction materials
  • Electronics
  • Appliances
  • Batteries
  • Fluorescent bulbs
  • Household hazardous waste
  • Motor oil and oil filters

People that are participating in the Free Landfill Event will need to bring and show proof of residency.  The event is limited to individual homeowners; no contractors, landlords, or business owners.  All loads must be covered as per usual to avoid littering fines. Loose items must be tied or bagged.  Items must be checked by landfill staff.
