Game Times Set For the Upcoming NCHC Frozen Faceoff
The St. Cloud State men's hockey team defeated Western Michigan 5-1 Sunday night in St. Cloud in the deciding Game 3 of their NCHC Quarterfinal best of 3 playoff series. The Huskies won 5-2 Friday night, lost 6-1 Saturday before winning Sunday night.
Vehicle Stolen in Waite Park
Waite Park Police are reporting a stolen vehicle on the 1100 block of 7th Street South. Alicia Mages from Tri-County Crimestoppers indicates it was a gray Dodge Journey with Wisconsin License ALJ 917. She says there is a hole in the rear bumper.
Childcare Challenges for Central Minnesotans and the Workforce
The cost and availability of childcare can be a challenge for parents of young children. To talk about the issues of childcare in the workforce I was joined by Greater St. Cloud Development Corporation's Gail Cruikshank. She explains that 24% of parents surveyed withdrew from the workforce or denied employment due to childcare arrangements.
Albany Back In the State Championship Game
The Albany girls basketball team defeated Minnehaha Academy 60-52 Friday night in the Class AA State Semifinals to advance to the State Championship Game. The Huskies trailed 29-26 at halftime but rallied in the 2nd half for the win.
Albany Heading Back to Boys State Tourney
Albany defeated Annandale 63-53 Friday night in the Section 6-2-A championship game at St. Cloud State to earn another trip to the State Tournament. The Huskies improve to 28-2 while Annandale's season ends with a 26-4 record.
County Road 75 Bridge Project Completion Timeline
The County Road 75 bridge construction project over the Sauk River in Waite Park continues but it isn't ahead of schedule. Some road construction projects in the state are ahead of schedule due to the unusually warm weather but that doesn't include the County Road 75 bridge project.

Alexandria defeated Tech 91-45 Thursday night in Willmar in the boys basketball section 8-3-A final. The Cardinals and Tigers split the two regular season meetings with the road team winning in each occasion.
Tourism Could Be Affected By Latest Mille Lacs Decision
The Department of Natural Resources and the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe have set a catch-and-release fishing season from May 11th through August 15th. The plan is to begin allowing one walleye between 21-23 inches or one over 28 inches on August 16.

The Albany girls basketball team defeated Rochester Lourdes 58-41 Wednesday night at Maturi Pavilion on the University of Minnesota campus in the Class 2-A State Tournament quarterfinals.
Albany, Annandale Advance in Boys Section Playoffs
Albany defeated Spectrum 87-64 Wednesday night at St. John's University in the Section 6-2-A semifinals. The Huskies led 46-26 at halftime and held on to win. Sam Hondl led Albany with 28 points, Zeke Austin added 23 points and Andrew Olson chipped in 18 points.
Tech/Alexandria Boys Basketball Meet in Another Section Final
St. Cloud Tech will meet Alexandria in the Section 8-3-A boys basketball final for a 3rd straight year Thursday night in Willmar. The Tigers edged Alexandria 71-69 in 2022 and the Cardinals got their revenge on Tech in 2023 winning 56-44.
