I actually had a date that took me to the Old Country Buffet years ago.  He had forgotten his wallet, but worked there so instead of asking me to pay, he begged the manager to take an I.O.U.  Interesting first date, how do you not look like a hog when you have all you can eat crab salad??  I'm upset with their closing because so many people lost their jobs unsuspectingly.  That opens up the space for a new business and I have some suggestions.

I remember when Robin Hood Restaurant was there, then Plush Pippin (loved their pies).  The solarium of OCB use to be walled off from the rest of the restaurant and we always tried to sit in that section, then they tore down the wall and it became one open space.  What would you like to see in that space?  Here's my votes!

    Cheesecake Factory

I LOVE the Cheesecake Factory and not necessarily for the cheesecake (although the Vanilla Bean is a favorite).  Their food is delish too!  We always hit the one in Edina in the Cities when we're in that area, unless it's a Friday or Saturday evening, the wait is too long on those nights.

    Sonic Drive-In

There are a few drive-in restaurants left in the Twin Ports.  While eating in the car can be a pain, going to a bonafide drive-in is always a unique experience.  We like the taste of the Sonic burgers and wouldn't mind having to hoof it in to get our meal.

    Melting Pot Restaurant

The Melting Pot Restaurant is one of my faves for experience.  It's a restaurant that you choose your food and actually cook it at your table via fondue pots.  You choose your meat and if you want to dip it in oil or broth.  Dessert is even better, you choose what you want to dip, strawberries, pound cake, marshmallows, etc.  Then you choose what kind of melted chocolate you want to dip it in.  So much fun, but $$$.

    Bring Back The Chinese Lantern

Natives of the area will know exactly why I would want the Chinese Lantern to return.  The food was fantastic, but I think it was also the atmosphere that added to the dining experience.  Not sure if that can ever be duplicated.  Remember the sweeping staircase that led to the Brass Phoenix Night Club upstairs?  Great memories!  Let's petition to bring THAT back!
