YWCA Mother’s Day Walk/Run To Affect West Duluth Traffic May 7

A fun event on Mother's Day has the potential to cause some traffic changes that you might want to be aware of.

The YWCA Mother's Day Walk/Run happens Sunday, May 7 starting at 8:30 AM.  The event begins at the Heritage Center near 29th Avenue West and Michigan Street.  Runners and walkers will travel from the Heritage Center parking lot to Superior Street.  From there, they will continue west to 39th Avenue West, head east to 34th Avenue West, back to Wade Stadium - where they will enter the ball field.  Finally, participants will continue and return to a finish line at the Heritage Center parking lot.

During the event, Superior Street, Jenswold Drive, and Michigan Street will be closed to drivers in the course area - from Carlton Street to 39th Avenue West.

Police will begin to close the affected streets at 7:15 AM with plans to reopen at about 10:00 AM.
