Along with nicer temperatures and (eventually) rain and fog, one of the sure signs of spring in the Northland is the large number of orange cones that start to make their appearance along roadways.  For sure, the summer road construction season is brisk with projects in our part of the country.

And just as important as those repair projects are to our infrastructure, so are the workers who do the job.  It's not only a good practice to drive safely through these zones - it's the law!

One particular law that is relatively new is the Wisconsin statute that outlaws cellphone use by the driver of a vehicle in a road construction zone.  In advance of the summer work season, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation has taken to their social media platforms to remind drivers of this law with a video that outlines the safety concerns of inattentive driving.
