Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers says he will likely include a first step in his budget proposal to legalizing marijuana, according to WDIO. The first step according to Evers is to get medical marijuana legal in the state. Further discussions about eventually fully legalizing it to recreational use would come later.

He also says he doesn't want to rush the legalization, but he does favor it. Meanwhile neighboring states have somewhat legalization already in the books, such as medical marijuana in Minnesota (and possibly recreational soon), full legalization in Michigan, and medical marijuana in Illinois.

We'll see what happens as there are still bi partisan differing views in the state legislature.
