While astronomers and even weather-related experts were busy tracking a meteor that made its way across the Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, even Indiana skies this morning, Wisconsin Department of Transportation officials got the best view of the phenomenon.  According to their Facebook page, WISDOT traffic cameras caught the meteor in flight in a few of their locations.

While meteors are a somewhat common sight in our northern hemisphere, this particular one was bright and highly visible.  Some people wondered what the image was.

Officials might be sure of what they saw however they're not as confident about where it ended up;  As of this writing they still hadn't determined if the meteor struck Earth or burned up completely before hitting the ground.  Some authorities pondered whether or not the meteor ended up in Lake Michigan.
