Democratic voters head to the polls today to pick a candidate to run against Republican Gov. Scott Walker in next moth's recall election.Voters will choose between Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, former Dane County executive Kathleen Falk, state Sen. Kathleen Vinehout, D-Alma, and Secretary of State Doug La Follette.

The Walker debacle has caused much controversy and division in Wisconsin. I've noticed it myself as I drive daily to and from Lake Nebagamon. The issue really hit home when my wife Mrs. Rayman  took the better option to leave teaching rather than continue under the Walker plan... cut till it hurts, then cut some more. I understand the state had to cut the budget, something all states are forced to do. Big difference between cutting and slashing, especially in education.

History both past and present shows  us education is the bedrock of  an advanced and civilized society. I can name two giant superpower countries right now that make  education their number one priority...and they have succeeded brilliantly, often times overshadowing students educated here in our own country. When America's educators decline, it's inevitable the rest of America will decline as well. It's just a matter of time.
