Santa Claus.  Polar bears.  One of America's most-iconic brands has tied a lot of it's advertising budget to the Christmas season in past.  However, this year - Coca Cola is noticeably absent.  The reason for the shift is a charitable one.

Coca Cola made a conscious decision to redirect the dollars it had allocated for holiday advertising campaigns to the relief efforts in the Phillippines following Typhoon Haiyan.

At this point, the company has donated almost 4-million dollars to the cause.
