Clemson student Nathan Weaver, sought out to help turtles as they crossed the road. He wanted to know why, and how could he help them be safer. What he got was a shocking glimpse into the dark souls of people.

What he did was put a rubber turtle on the highway to do research. What he found was people would swerve to hit the rubber turtle. He couldn't believe it.

Researchers will back it up. The box turtle is in decline, numbers are falling fast and scientists say it's because motorists are deciding the fate of the turtles and they don't know why.

His next step was to see if it was certain people. He put down the rubber turtle at a student area, then down in a residential area. The results were the same.

Just a foot note, Nathan also found that snakes also had the same fate.
