Where Is The Capital Christmas Tree Coming From? Cass Lake, Minnesota To Supply The 2014 Holiday Centerpiece
The Christmas Tree that helps the nations capitol celebrate the holiday will have local ties this year. A 65-foot tree spruce or balsam tree from the Chippewa National Forest will be trucked to Washington, D.C. to take part in the festivities.
While the exact tree that will make the trip hasn't been selected yet (officials are keeping their eyes open for the perfect specimen, 2014 marks the second time that a tree from the Chippewa National Forest has been selected. In 1992 a white spruce was chosen.
