Where Did Billy Idol Get The Idea For “Dancing With Myself (VIDEO)

Billy got the idea watching Asian kids "Dancing With Themselves" in a nightclub. The kids would dance in a pogo style up and down. He never forgot that evening, and originally recorded the song in 1980. In 1981, he rerecorded the song and it was released in America. The songs got lots of exposure on MTV, and when Billy saw it, he realized he had finally made it in America.
