Even before we're of age to need to pay taxes in this country, the deadline date is seared into our conscious:  April 15 is the date that those long, short, or EZ forms are due.  No exceptions.

But what happens if that April 15 date falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or a holiday? The IRS has a protocol in place for such situations.

If the tax deadline falls on a weekend or a legal holiday, the deadline is pushed to the next date that is not a weekend or a holiday.
