If your eggs are sticking to your skillet, it may be time for "seasoning". While there are different methods to use, I find this one does the trick for me.

Heat your oven to around 350 F. Coat the pan with vegetable oil, bake for at least an hour, and wipe. You're done! To reduce the need for re-seasoning, make sure you're only cleaning with hot water.

 There are other ways to "season" your new skillet that you may prefer.  According to Lifehacker, with proper care, your cast iron skillet should last a lifetime
