You can only bundle up so much.  You can only turn the thermostat up so high.  Sooner or later, you need to think about other ways to help "survive" a Northland winter.

If survival is making yourself as comfortable as possible, then nothing screams "comfort" like food!  But what foods are better at helping your body adapt to the extreme cold that Mother Nature throws our way in this part of the country?

You really need to read the specifics for yourself, but here's an overview of some of the items you should include on your plate from November through March.  (Okay, okay - September through June -- this IS the Northland, after all!!):  Include lots of fats and avoid coffee!
