This blog all started from a discussion at Grizzley's in Canal Park. I was talking with a talble of nice ladies and they were discussing Bull Durham. Possibly one of the best sports movies ever made, they said. I asked them why. They liked Kevin Costner, they liked the romance between him and Susan Surandon. I told them, I think I saw a different movie than they did.

Then the conversation turned to other sports movies. The table said "Field Of Dreams" was good. I asked if it was because of Kevin Costner, again. Yes, he was good looking and the whole story was good and it has a Minnesota connection to it.

Everyone has a different opinion depending on why you watch the movie. I surfed around the internet and found the sports movie lists to be so different. When you look up scary movies they are close to the same, romantic movied, they contain a lot of the same. When you get to sports it is so different.

So here's my top 5, and feel free to write me and tell me your favoriites.

5. Space Jam-Starring Michael Jordan and the Looney Tunes. Cute movie, fun to watch, kids love it, the reason I like it. It's entertaining, Michael isn't bad, and the whole family can watch it without any favoritism toward any NBA team.

4. Moneyball-What woman doesn't like Brad Pitt, so it could be a date movie. I like the story and how they show Billy Beanes love of the game and what it took to make a point and change baseball.

3. Hoosiers-This movie is inspiring, has a littlle love story going, and plus I am not a basketball lover but this is so well written it makes me love the game.

2. Miracle- I'm a bit biased toward this movie, it's about a lot of Minnesota people, I love hockey and loved Herb Brooks. When I watched this movie the first time I wanted to hate Kurt Russell, but he covered Herb really well. That's what made the movie for me.

1. The Natural-I am not a baseball fan. To say, I like baseball, not a fan. I love this movie because Robert Redford showed the struggle his character had, and you want him to win, you want him to defeat evil. When he hits a light and explodes all of them and runs around the bases, you feel like you are there.

So what are you favorite sports movies?
