The City of Duluth will be restoring two retaining walls along West Skyline Parkway during the upcoming construction season.

According to a press release from the city of Duluth, in order to complete the necessary work, West Skyline Parkway will be closed and detours will be installed around the project sites.

This is a project that has been talked about for a while. The two locations are the Section 3 Turnout area (near Hank Jensen Drive) and the Oneota Overlook located between 24th Ave West and 40th Ave W. The first project will close West Skyline Parkway between West 5th Street and Hank Jensen Drive starting Monday, April 23 for the turnout work. The detour route will be Hank Jensen Drive to access Enger Park and east or westbound Skyline Parkway.

The tentative completion date is August 24, 2018. The second project, Oneota Overlook, will start later this summer and a separate public notice for that road closure/detour will be released prior to the start of that work.
