Weigh In On Duluth’s Proposed Transportation Tax At Public Meetings

I am the thrilled that Northland roads are on the forefront of people's minds, most need help.  Mayor Larson introduced a "Street Improvement Program" which would tax residents as well as visitors to our city.  It requires a referendum to pass on November 7.  There are three upcoming meetings for you to have your say whether it's nay or yay.

In a press conference, Mayor Emily Larson broke it down to this, if you spent $20 in Duluth, you'd be taxed .10.  If you spent $200, you would be $1 in tax.  Mayor Larson says this is a long term tax being executed for at least 25 years.  If the referendum passes with the citizens, the Minnesota legislature must then give it's stamp of approval.

You can attend one of three public meetings that will be held in the upcoming months.

Wednesday, September 20 at Morgan Park Community Center, 1242 88th Ave West from 5:30-7p.

Thursday, October 26 at the Duluth Heights Community Center, 33 W Mulberry St from 5:30-7p.
