A water main broke in the Piedmont area Monday night causing many residents to go without water. Some residents found that they couldn't pass on the bottom of the avenue Tuesday and Wednesday because workman had the road blocked. This is a temporary thing and residents should be able to pass for work Thursday.

The areas affected are Adirondack Street, Allegheny Street, Appalachian Avenue, Catskill Street, Gearhart Street, Hillcrest Drive, Hutchinson Road, lower Ozark Street, Piedmont Avenue, Selkirk Avenue, Springvale Road, and Tyrol Street.

Residents needing water can go to the Cottonwood, Maple Grove or 27th Avenue West and  Superior Street Fire Halls to get water for use at their home while the break is being repaired.  The city asks that residents bring THEIR OWN containers to fill with water.

As usual the City of Duluth says they need your patience in order to make the necessary fixes. Any questions call public works or comfort systems.
