Watch Motley Crue Help Country Star Justin Moore Film His ‘Home Sweet Home’ Video
With the Aug. 19 release of ‘Nashville Outlaws: A Tribute To Motley Crue' drawing ever closer, behind-the-scenes footage from the video shoot for Justin Moore's version of 'Home Sweet Home' is now available.
Rolling Stone Country will premiere the video for 'Home Sweet Home,' the album's first single, tomorrow (July 1). Filmed in Nashville, the video features a cameo appearance by the members of Motley Crue, including Vince Neil joining Moore for the last chorus of the song.
For the making of the video (seen above), director Shane Drake says, "We were actually able to take the day and split it up into about six setups to make it feel as though Justin was on the road. From on his tour bus to in a green room to a different venue to a recording studio to a soundcheck stage. And in all of this, we get this idea that the song 'Home Sweet Home' is a song that holds dear to him as a family guy and as a man who is on the road a lot. He can resonate with the lyrics and understand what is happening."
Despite some initial reservations about how his version of the song would go over with the guys in Motley Crue, Moore's fears were quickly laid to rest. "You're thinking, 'Oh no, are they going to want to kill me for ripping their song apart?' he says. "But they were incredibly gracious and complimentary, all four of them."
"It has been a blast becoming friends with the Motley guys and learning how much they appreciate the history of country music," Moore continues. "They are truly one of the most disruptive bands of their generation and I am honored to be able to cover one of my favorite Crue songs of all time, 'Home Sweet Home'. It has been pretty unreal singing with Vince Neil."
