A rapid-response team will be in Duluth tomorrow (August 2) to aid in the remaining cleanup efforts following last weeks storm; Team Rubicon is looking for local volunteers to help them out.

Team Rubicon is comprised of veterans who travel to areas following disasters.

If you're interested in helping out, you're asked to meet at the Duluth Heights Community Center:  33 West Mulberry Street before 8:00 AM.  Teams will be created and assignments will be given out.  Tree and brush cleanup will be on the agenda.  Participants should be ready to stoop, bend, lift heavy items, and walk on uneven terrain.  You're asked to bring your own gloves and safety glasses - if you have them.  Organizers also ask that you come prepared with any necessary sundry items like bug repellent and sunscreen.

It's not a requirement that you volunteer for the entire day - but organizers are looking for as many people that can do so.  The one time requirement is that if you are willing to help, that you make it to the initial 8:00 AM meet-up so that you can receive your assignments and leaders can prioritize tasks with manpower.
