This is fresh off the presses, On February 1, the current $90 entry fee for the 2013 Grandma’s Marathon will increase to $95. (See complete fee structure below). So, if you haven’t already entered be sure to secure your spot in the 37th running of Grandma’s Marathon and save money by registering before the end of January!

The Two Harbors-to-Duluth race is set for Saturday, June 22 at 7:45 a.m. The 2013 marathon is limited to the first 10,000 registrants, so be sure to register soon at www.grandmasmarathon.com.

2013 Grandma’s Marathon Entry Fee Structure
$90 – Thru January 31
$95 – February 1 to March 31
$110 – April 1 to May 31

Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon Lottery Registration
Registration for the 2013 Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon begins Monday, February 11 and continues through Friday, February 22. The half-marathon registration is conducted through a lottery process in which 6,300 participants will be randomly selected.

You can submit your registration any time during the lottery registration period. Beginning Monday, February 25, emails will be sent stating whether or not you were selected in the lottery. Your credit/debit card will only be charged if you were accepted into the race.

The 23rd annual Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon will be held on Saturday, June 22, at 6:45 a.m., and is run on the second half of the Grandma’s Marathon course. The entry fee for the 2013 race is $80.

Announcing the Upper Midwest Endurance Challenge
We have an exciting new challenge to tell you about. Conquer Grandma’s Marathon, the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon and the American Birkebeiner in sequence! It’s a feat of stamina called the Upper Midwest Endurance Challenge (UMEC).

Marathon runners and cross country skiers now have a new way to enjoy their sports. The Upper Midwest Endurance Challenge will test their mettle in the region’s premier marathons as well as in the country’s largest cross country ski race.

The Upper Midwest Endurance Challenge will offer participants in this year’s Grandma’s Marathon in Duluth, the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon and the 2014 American Birkebeiner, which races from Cable to Hayward, Wisc., the chance to compete against one another in an event series that spans the seasons.

Registration for the series is now available online. For the $30 UMEC entry fee, (plus registration fees for the individual events) runners and skiers can compete for the honor of earning a Brooks® UMEC finishers’ jacket as well as open and age-group awards and prizes. All participants will receive a free pair of running socks from FITSOK®.
