Good news:  Saint Louis County is expected to invest $119 million dollars on roads and bridges in 2015 and 2016! The work will help to repair, rebuild, and strengthen the infrastructure that connects the communities in our northland.

Two major road resurfacing projects are about to get underway on the Iron Range, resulting nearly 21 miles of smoother roads. Both projects, which together total $5.2 million dollars, are scheduled to begin May 26.

Here's what you need to know:

County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 16 - also known as Townline Road - will be resurfaced.  Over 14 miles of the highway are included in t he project, from Highway 53 to County Road 5.

County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 25 near Cherry will be resurfaced.  Over 6.5 miles will be worked on between Highway 37 and U.S. Highway 169.

The resurfacing work will mean temporary lane closures through late July. Motorists traveling through the construction zones are reminded to observe all traffic control signage and work zone speed limits.
