Minnesota might be the "land of 10,000 lakes" - but there are probably millions of trees to go along with them - especially up in our neck of the woods.  But, a multi-month project to make way for the Highway 1/169 Eagles Nest Lake Area Project will see a lot of them going away.

Drivers along Highway 169 between Six Mile Road and Bradach Road west of Ely will encounter work crews removing trees on various weekdays through the end of April 2016.

Although the delays will be minimal, drivers can expect to see flag-men and partial lane closures.

The completed project will provide motorists with improved sight lines, improved passing opportunities, safer pull-off areas and improved drainage.
