Three Teams From the Northland Representing at Girls State Basketball Tournaments

The 2014 March tournament season continues with Minnesota and Wisconsin Girls State Tournaments kicking off this week. The Northland has two representatives in Minneapolis and one in Green Bay as action kicks off this week.

The Esko Eskomos are the first of the three teams to hit the court this week. This is the first time in school history Esko’s boys and girls basketball teams have both been at the state tournament in the same year. Esko will face the Wildcats of New London-Spicer Wednesday night at 8 pm at Mariucci Arena. (See full Class AA Bracket here)

Mountain Iron-Buhl makes its 5th straight trip to the tourney, making their first appearance of the week Thursday afternoon at 5 pm at Mariucci Arena. After being bounced in the first round of last year’s tournament, the third-seeded Rangers will look for a better outcome as they play Win-E-Mac in the first round this year.
