This Just In, Local Singer Songwriter Rachael Kilgour Wins Award

Rachael Kilgour was in studio about a month ago talking about her music and raising money to compete in a music competition in North Carolina. I am proud to say she has let us know she won the event.

Each contestant sang a song and then between the 8 singer/songwriters, 3 moved on to the next round with Racheal singing her hit "America" and that impressed the 2 judges and audience that were present, beating out an Asheville local, and a performer from Iowa.

According to the Newsong Music Website, as the winner, Kilgour will return to the LEAF Festival this Fall for a mainstage performance of her own, and she’ll also advance as a regional finalist in the next international NewSong Contest.
