Longtime Thin Lizzy guitarist Scott Gorham is readying the publication of his musical memoir, and although readers in the UK will be able to buy it next Monday (Nov. 12), American fans will have to wait a few extra months.

Bravewords reports that 'Thin Lizzy: The Boys Are Back in Town' has received a U.S. release date of May 1, 2013 -- kind of a long time to wait, especially for what amounts to a 160-page paperback, but it'll be worth it for fans looking for some inside perspective on the band's glory days.

Co-written by Gorham and journalist Harry Doherty, 'Back in Town' promises to present Thin Lizzy's story as told "by the people who were involved directly including former guitarists, road crew, management, family and friends" and share the details of "how the albums 'Jailbreak' and 'Boys Are Back in Town' took the band to the top of the charts just as they were to become bankrupt."

Of course, no rock memoir is complete without some sex and drugs, and the book's press release makes it clear that it'll have plenty of both, saying it "includes stories of the band on the road, the drink and drugs and how the years of partying, drug-taking and non stop touring eventually took its toll on not only the band members but on their families" -- including "the death of frontman Phil Lynott and their legacy following his death." All of which is definitely a tall order for such a short book, but if nothing else, its abbreviated length should keep things from ever getting dull.
