These Three Things Actually Originated in America Right?

Made in the U.S.A, Born In America, As American as Apple Pie, we've all heard those slogans right? But were these things actually first made in America?

APPLE PIE: NO: The first apple pies were made in Britain in 1589.

AUTOMOBILE: NO:  It was Carl Benz who patented the automobile in 1886. Ransom Olds later introduced the first commercial automobiles in America, followed by Henry Ford years later.

HOT DOGS: NO: The hot dog actually originated in Europe, and then butchers brought the idea  to the U.S. late in the 19th century.
