Hey, I didn't even know that crossword puzzles were constructed by people, I thought they were designed by a computer. Goes to show what I know right? Actually, the worlds oldest professional crossword puzzle constructor according to an article I read in the AARP Bulletin is Bernice Gordon. Here's the kicker. Bernice is 99 years old, and still going strong!

Bernice says she constructs at least one puzzle per day, and she's been doing that for over seven decades. Bernice started out with the New York Times way back in 1952, and over the years has constructed thousands of puzzles.

When asked if she would ever start constructing math puzzles, she replied "I can't add two and two, I count everything on my fingers." Congrats Bernice, and a big thank you for entertaining millions of people over seventy years with your crossword puzzles!
